Our Story: How We Built a Platform with Over 2,000 Free Tools

My name is Aihaiti, and together with my lifelong partner, Nadire, we co-founded OnlinePrimeTools.com at the start of 2023. It all began with a simple idea: make life easier for people by bringing essential tools together in one place, for free.

Like many of you, we’d often find ourselves bouncing between different websites just to do basic tasks—converting a file, calculating something, or even looking up a word in the dictionary. We’d be on one site for a unit converter, another for a file compressor, and sometimes we’d even end up paying for things that should’ve been free. It was frustrating, inefficient, and a waste of time.

That’s when we realized something: why not create one platform that brings all of these tools together in a simple, easy-to-use way? And that’s how OnlinePrimeTools.com was born.

A Big Idea with a Small Team

The two of us decided to build this platform from scratch. I focused on the backend development, making sure all the complex code and functionality that keeps the tools running smoothly was in place, while Nadire handled the user experience (UX) design, user interface (UI) design, and UI development, ensuring the site was visually appealing, easy to use, and provided a seamless experience for users.

We started with a goal to include all the tools people use the most. Fast forward to today, and we now offer 2,151 free online tools. From 76 unit converters (for everything from length and weight to temperature and pressure) to file converters for all kinds of files—audio, video, documents—you name it. We even added file compressors and archivers that work with over 200 file formats, so users can zip or extract files easily.

Real-Life Examples of How We Help

Here’s what makes OnlinePrimeTools special—it’s built with the everyday user in mind. For example, let’s say you’re a student who needs to convert between metric and imperial units for a math assignment. You can not only use our unit converter but soon, with our planned AI integration, you’ll be able to ask questions like, "What’s the easiest way to convert meters to feet for this project?" or "What unit makes the most sense for measuring large distances?" and get instant, tailored answers.

Or, imagine you're working on a video project and need to reduce the file size. You can use our video file compressor to do that. But with the AI integration we’re planning, you’ll be able to ask, "How much quality will I lose if I compress this video to a smaller size?" and get a detailed response.

Even for everyday tasks like looking up the definition of a word—our English dictionary offers 300,000 words, and with our AI improvements, you’ll soon be able to ask questions like, "What’s a simpler way to explain this word?" or "How can I use this word in a sentence?"

Building Something Big with Just Two People

Building this platform hasn’t been easy. With just the two of us running the show, we’ve worn a lot of hats. There were many late nights spent coding, designing, testing, and improving each tool. But our passion for solving real-world problems kept us going. We wanted to make sure that OnlinePrimeTools.com isn’t just another website full of tools—it’s a platform where everything is simple, fast, and, most importantly, free for everyone.

We also knew we wanted to give users more than just basic functions. That’s why we’re excited about integrating AI into each tool.
